The Indians of Madison Central (20-6) came into the game Tuesday night against Tates Creek coming off a shut out loss Monday to South Laurel. Indians are a perfect 8-0 against region opponents and are 3-3 in their last six games. Central is averaging nine runs a game and tonight they faced one of the state's best pitchers in Konner Lewis. Lewis entered the contest with a 0.55 ERA. Indians started Casey Bargo who hasn't seen much action this season. He was on a pitch count to begin this one. Bargo allowed the game's first run in the second inning. Noah Blythe reached base on a 6-4 fielders choice and a balk moved him to second. A wild pitch and base hit from Chandler Workman put Creek on top and they would never trail. Bottom of the second Central had a chance to get even after Scott Simmons singled and Tyler Storie walked but they were stranded. Commodores get another run in the third after a controversial play at first where catcher Ben Snapp threw down and appeared to have picked off the runner but he was ruled safe. A base hit later scored the run. Indians get on the board in bottom of third when Trey Eden led off with a single and advanced to second on an E 7. A sacrifice bunt moves him to third where he came home on a single from Logan Thomason. The fourth inning saw Bargo replaced by Bryce Travis on the mound. Bargo went three innings allowing five hits and two runs, one of them earned. The first hitter Travis faced Eli Tencza, doubled and later scored. Tates Creek loaded the bases but Travis was able to leave the stranded. The fifth inning saw the visitors open it up with five runs and they go onto to win 10-5. For the Indians Trey Eden with three hits including a triple and an RBI, Logan Thomason with three hits two of those being doubles and he drove in two runs, Bryce Travis with a hit, Scott Simmons with a base hit, and D'Marko Foster with a double. Cameron Travis came in relief and had posted two and a third inning of work allowing two hits, a run, while striking out two. Indians return to action Wednesday at #5 Scott County.
