The Richmond City Commission met last night where one ordinance drew what seemed to be quite a bit of concern among those citizens present.
The proposal to annex 62 acres off of Goggins lane for residential building drew concerns on traffic and flooding issues. (many residents blame over-building and the Richmond Centre for many of these problems, and asked the Commission to consider their problems before approving the annexation.)
The reading was the first, and the Commission will not take action until the second reading. Phylis Adams also asked the city to join Berea and the County in a drug prevention proclamation.
During the presentation, Mayor Robert Blythe joined the county, the city of Berea, and the Madison County Board of Education in proclaiming August as a time to educate citizens about the dangers of e-cigarettes and vaping.
