Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn says 84-year-old Thomas Mollencop is the victim of the crash. His death has been ruled as an accident. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The accident resulted from a Mollencop driving the wrong-way getting on the interstate at the 110 mile-marker of I-75 southbound around 9 p.m. Sunday.
A woman in separate vehicle involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A third vehicle was involved but reported no injuries.
The accident shut down all southbound traffic until around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
