Preliminary work on the long awaited Berea Bypass will begin Thursday, but will have no impact on traffic.
The bypass route is planned for east of Berea Road/US 25 Southeast and connect to Big Hill Road/KY 21.
This new roadway will be a connection which will include both two and four lanes. The anticipated completion date for the entire project is June 30, 2023.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the project was awarded to the Allen Company and will cost nearly $20.8 million.
