The female victim of a New Year’s Eve fatality accident in Richmond has been identified. 42-year-old Graciela Valera DeJesus was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night just before 8:30.
The accident, witnessed by many motorists, occurred at 200 Eastern Bypass. This is the busy intersection of the bypass and Killarney Lane. Conditions were dark, cold and rainy at the time of the accident, and is believed to had an impact on visibility in the area.
Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison was notified to respond to the scene immediately.
Ms. DeJesus is believed to have been residing on Bolton Avenue in Richmond.
Richmond Police tell WBON-TV9 it is just a tragic accident, and no fault or charges have been brought, or are expected, against the driver.
