If your stuck outside in the cold for the Holidays, your community is helping to make it a little better. In Madison and surrounding counties many local churches and organizations are hosting homeless shelters and warming stations for those without a home during these frosty December days.

These locations are available 24 hours on a case by case basis. These locations are Warming Centers that will provide shelter and heat. Lancaster City Police, Garrard County Sheriff Department, and Fire & Rescue will be assisting with transportation needs. If extreme cases occur, Garrard County Emergency Management will coordinate to declare a location for sheltering.
Estill County
Warming Shelter Ravenna Nazarene Church – Fellowship Hall (building beside the church)
530 Main St, Ravenna, KY 40472 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Dec 22nd—Dec 25th, 2022 Hours 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
They ask you to check in between 9PM and midnight. If no one shows by midnight any of the nights, it will be closed until the next scheduled night. Free soup Saturday 12 Noon, Any additional information, please call the judge executives office 606-723-7524 or non-emergency dispatch number 606-723-2201, or Ravenna Nazarene 606-723-4259. They also use blankets/throws, gloves, hats, scarfs, socks to have on hand to pass out to those that might need them. Those items can be dropped off for donation at the courthouse room 101 before 4pm today or at the Church fellowship Hall. The church will also take coats/jackets if anyone has those.
Laurel County
A Warming Center will be located at West London Baptist Church, 360 Parker Road in London, next to Saint Joseph Hospital. The center will be available Thursday night at 8:00 PM. Any questions regarding the Warming Center, please call or leave a message at (859)-428-8530.
