Friday May 26, 2023, Richmond Police responded to a residence on Cottonwood Drive in Richmond to assist with serving an arrest warrant for a resident at that location for failure to appear in court in both Fayette and Montgomery Counties, where warrants were issued.
According to the arrest citation, after the subject realized police were there, he ran out of the rear of the residence and jumped the fence in an attempt to get away from the police, as the officer was commanding him to stop. Soon after, they found the subject hiding in a drainage ditch behind the residence. Taken into custody was 32-year-old Joshua Anders. Anders was charged with fleeing and evading, failure to appear, and various drug charges, resulting from items found at the residence.
Officer Adkins of RPD also received an ankle injury in the foot pursuit according to the report.
Anders was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
