Richmond Police officers responded to a residence on East Irvine Street early this Tuesday morning acting on information regarding a wanted man.
According to authorities, the man refused to answer the door forcing officers to form a perimeter in the area while a search warrant for the residence was obtained.
Once officers made entry into the home, 33-year-old Michael E. Vanwinkle was taken into custody without incident.
East Irvine Street was closed to traffic this morning for some time as the situation played out.
Vanwinkle was wanted on warrants for failure to appear and nonpayment of court costs and fines according to arrest records.
