Early Monday morning, around 6 a.m., a man was crossing the Bypass at Boggs Lane in front of Walmart when he was struck by a vehicle.
According to Coroner Jimmy Cornelison, the man was pronounced deceased at Baptist Health Richmond. Cornelison says he is working to contact the family of the deceased, 47-year-old Jamie Wayne Gray, who are in Ohio.
The roadway has now reopened, and Richmond Police add that there will be no charges against the driver as they were cooperative.
