The city of Richmond will be purchasing a new picnic shelter for Paradise Cove. The city has also adopted a resolution in support of the Boone Trace Master Plan. The Boone Trace Master Plan is a state wide effort to persevere the original Boone Trace made by Daniel Boone and his party of trailblazers in 1775. It will also try to improve awareness on the historical significance of the trail.
During public comments, a Boy Scout and aspiring Eagle Scout named Conner suggested that the city begin participating in the Angel Program. A program that allows those suffering from addiction to seek help from local police officers and allow them to take them to a rehab center. Assistant Chief of Police Rodney Richardson said that the Richmond Police Department is willing to participate. Issues with liability such as an addict changing their mind about rehab while being taken there was brought up by City Manager Rob Minerich. He suggested hiring a social worker for the program.
Lastly, the Richmond police and fire departments are doing a boxed lunch fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. The lunch includes half of a smoked chicken, two sides, a choice of bread, and a drink for ten dollars. To pre-order your lunch,visit HFHMCC.org.
