Last night in Richmond, a woman was discovered dead with a single gunshot wound to the head. Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison says that he was called there around seven pm last night, and states the death has been ruled as suspicious, as there were multiple ‘red flags’ at the apartment.
Madison County Coroner says that the autopsy is back for 52 year-old Tammy Alexander, who was found without a pulse with a single gunshot wound to the head on Villa drive near Southern Hills in Richmond last night. She was discovered when neighbors saw her dogs roaming the area loose.
The manner of death still under investigation, and looks suspicious according to the Coroner. He says that they are compiling an investigation to determine who last saw Alexander alive, and if there would have been any foul play in her death.
Reports from neighbors state that a pistol was found near the victim, but police have yet to confirm this detail.
Officers had to await a search warrant for the home and were on the scene until approximately 4:30 this morning. The coroner is still waiting the manner of death because of the ‘unusual circumstances’ and is also waiting the toxicology results before any strong determinations are made.
