Today, Congressman Andy Barr announced his support of Republican Darrell Billings for State Representative.
Billings will be challenging incumbent Bill Wesley for the 91st congressional seat again this May. Since Wesley and Billings are both Republicans, the race will be decided again in the primary. The district is now comprised of Powell, Estill, and a large part of Madison County
In a press release issued today, Barr said “Darrell Billings has been a longtime, loyal friend, and I know that he will be a champion of conservative values in the Kentucky General Assembly,” said Andy Barr. “As a third-generation farmer and a small business owner, Darrell understands hard work and determination and will use his unique skill set to serve the people of Estill, Madison, and Powell Counties. Darrell is pro-life, pro-gun, and a loyal supporter of President Trump. I hope you will join me in supporting him to be your next Representative in Frankfort.”
The endorsement from Congressman Barr adds significant momentum to the Billings campaign. Barr’s endorsement comes on the heels of Congressman James Comer’s endorsement of Billings last week.
