Two people were charged with 1st degree promoting contraband in recent separate arrests.
24-year-old Roger Baker and 36-year-old Justin Morris were taken to the Madison County Detention Center. Baker had several warrants.
On separate occasions, both were asked if they had any drugs/items on them and they denied having any. Baker stated “not to his knowledge.”
Upon searching, officers found blue pills and powder substance in the front left pocket of Morris’ pants. Morris stated that it was Viagra and he was charged. Officers told Morris prior to the search that if anything was found in his possession, he could be charged.
A capped needle was found in Baker’s right pants pocket. Baker allegedly also hid a baggie filled with tobacco in a body cavity. Also located in his right pocket was a small baggie which appeared to have trace amounts of methamphetamine residue. In his left pocket, there was also allegedly a small white filter.
Both were charged for introducing several dangerous contraband items into Madison County Detention Center.
