Two Richmond men are now behind bars and facing manslaughter charges after they allegedly sold drugs to a man that overdosed. According to Richmond Police, they responded to the suspected overdose, and located a male inside a vehicle that was deceased.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that two men arranged a drug transaction for the victim. During this transaction, the victim was provided with a substance that caused him to overdose by 61-year-old Robert McElroy and 48-year-old Donovan Mullins.
Both subjects were located and interviewed at the Richmond Police Department regarding the death of the victim. McElroy was also found in possession of suspected heroin and methamphetamine that he attempted to destroy.
Donovan Mullins was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Heroin) and Manslaughter 2nd Degree.
Robert McElroy was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Heroin), Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Manslaughter 2nd Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
