A tragedy in Estill County has a community praying for two children.
According to sources close to the family, the two girls were outside near Stacy Lane Road Sunday, February 25, 2024 around 6:30 pm, That’s when the 5-year-old reportedly went out into the roadway. Her 11-year-old sister tried to grab her hand to pull her back out of the road, and both were hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Both children sustained extensive serious injuries, and both were flown to UK medical center in Lexington for treatment.
No charges have been made against the driver and the incident is believed to be just a tragic accident.
The Estill Co. Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
