The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is advising motorists of a lane closure that remains in effect on Big Hill Road/KY 21 in Madison County. A collapse of the roadway occurred in a portion of the eastbound lane.
As a result of this collapse, one lane is currently closed at milepoint 12.5. The other lane will remain open with temporary signals to guide motorists.
Repair operations have been rescheduled from Tuesday until Thursday due to the possibility of snow on Tuesday.
KYTC says that the traveling public can utilize U.S. 421 to KY 1016 as an alternate route.
