A traffic stop last week on K St. in Richmond resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on a criminal complaint and an outstanding warrant.
Richmond Police say when the officer approached the car, the man in the passenger side seat bailed and ran. That man was 47-year-old Michael Shannon Pruitt.
Police say they have surveillance photos of Pruitt from a robbery of a woman’s home in March of last year. The woman, who was in Florida at the time, alerted police that she was witnessing a man breaking into her home through her surveillance cameras. According to the complaint, Pruitt tried to destroy those cameras before leaving the home. Pruitt was also wanted on a parole violation warrant.
When searching Pruitt last week, police say they also found a brown powdery substance in a baggie, they believe to be heroine.
Police have charged Pruitt with additional fleeing and possession charges stemming from his apprehension last Friday. He is currently held at the Madison County Detention Center.
