As most Madison Countians know, the Madison County Emergency Management/CSEPP conducts a monthly warning systems test on the first Saturday of each month at noon. This upcoming test is a little different though. Unique to the upcoming April 1st test is that the new AlertFM emergency alert receivers will be tested in conjunction with the current outdoor alert sirens. This will be a test message to ensure functionality.
This sound does *not* mean there is an emergency. Tests will not occur if severe weather is expected. You should have received your new Alert FM receivers, so make a note to get them out and get them ready for this Saturday with your new receiver. You will regret it when the next round of severe weather or emergency situation arises, so please get them out and get yours set up in your home.
If you have not received the new units pictured with the story, contact EMA 859-624-4787.
