On Saturday February 12, 2022, around 3 a.m. a person or persons unlawfully entered onto the property of Toyota of Frankfort. The subjects were possibly driving an 2002 Chevrolet Suburban that is tan/champagne in color (feature photo). The suspects caused approximately $35,000 in damage to vehicles on the property by removing catalytic converters and causing other damages to them.
According the the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, they suspect that the thieves are also involved with other catalytic converter thefts in the area. This is an ever-increasing problem facing not only businesses, churches, government facilities all over central and eastern KY. The management of Frankfort Toyota has offered a $1000.00 no questions asked reward for the information that identifies the suspects responsible for the thefts.
