A special plaque was set today, marking phase 3 of the historic Civil War Battle of Richmond, KY. The plaque is located on Big Hill Avenue in the former Hines Motel location.
Bill Williams of the Battle of Richmond Association, along with Association Curator Philip Seyfrit, are pictured with the marker.

“Most all of this area of Big Hill Avenue was center stage for the the Battle of Richmond”, Seyfrit stated. The battle was fought throughout the day in three different clashes of action.
Starting around the Battle of Richmond headquarters and extending out to near where the Richmond Cracker Barrel now stands, this area and marker recognizes the events of the last phase (phase 3) of the battle. The public is invited to stop by and enjoy the history depicted on this informative marker.
Currently, there are plans to conduct the official unveiling and dedication ceremony on Memorial Day weekend in 2020. For more information regarding the Battle of Richmond, you can call the Battle of Richmond Visitors Center at (859) 624-0013.
