During the Berea City Council meeting the report for Swing For A Cure showed it was a monumental success. 3500 people attended the two day event which is 800 more than last year. There were also 7 vendors present which 2 more than the previous year and there were more than 30 teams. It was also a very safe event as the nurse on duty only had cases of sunburn to treat.
The date and time for Berea’s Trick-or-Treating Halloween celebration has be set to be October 31st from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M
A new fee for tampering with water and electricity meters has been created. Someone caught tampering will receive a 500 dollar fine. The fine was created for public safety as tampering with power meters can be deadly. However, some council members felt that the fee was too high.
Lastly the ordinance for this years property tax received its first reading. The current rate is the same as last year with a 10.1 cent tax for every 100 dollars of property value.
