A man being sought in connection to a Rockcastle County murder was taken into custody just before 4 p.m. today at a residence in Mount Vernon. KSP Post 11 London say they arrested 49-year-old Clayton D. Cox for Murder and Tampering with physical evidence. Cox was lodged in the Rockcastle County Jail.
Officers responded to a welfare check on Goochland Cave Road in Rockcastle County on Sunday around 5:30. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Joshua L. Dooley, 43, of Mount Vernon. Mr. Dooley was pronounced deceased by the Rockcastle County Coroner. Mr. Dooley has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
