A Scott County man who is accused of murdering Sheena Baxter entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment today for numerous charges.
Joseph Hicks was arrested after police say he falsified a story regarding a shooting that took place on the night of Baxter’s disappearance. Authorities then determined that a body found inside of a storage unit on February 26th was that of the previously missing Baxter.
Baxter’s ex-boyfriend had appeared in court hours before the discovery, a short distance from his home. Hicks was subsequently charged with murder and robbery among other charges.
The official cause of Baxter’s death has not been revealed at this time. Hicks is scheduled for his next court appearance on June 1st of this year.
