Charges against a madison county driver are pending after state troopers say he led them on a pursuit after an attempted traffic stop.
A trooper attempted to stop the vehicle near the 88 mile marker of southbound I-75 but the driver got off the road at Exit 87 and began driving down Barnes Mill Road in Richmond.
At a dead end on Poosey Ridge Road, troopers say the driver attempted to do a u-turn but a tire deflation device was deployed. Troopers then report that the driver jumped out of the car and attempted to evade on foot into the woods. He was taken into custody.
