Police investigators recently discovered the identity of a suspect related to the shooting from two days ago on Gibson Lane.
Police reportedly determined that the suspect 21 year old Corey M. Jones possibly drove a red ford mustang. Police were reportedly able to locate the vehicle at Jones’s residence before taking him custody. Jones officially admitted to the shooting when questioned by police, he stated that it was an act of self-defense.
A search warrant was executed on the residence and the handgun believed to be used in the crime was located and seized by local law enforcement.
Jones was charged with assault 1st degree and lodged into the MCDC
