Last night, Sunday April 30, 2023, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old US 25 at The Crossing Subdivision in regards to a single vehicle injury collision. The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m.
A Ford F250 driven by Geremy Jones, 35 years old of Berea, failed to negotiate a curve causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, strike a utility pole, and overturn multiple times.
The truck was occupied by two additional passengers, Christopher Jones, 36 of Mount Sterling, and Ezekiel Byrd, 25 of Berea. Investigators determined Ezekiel Byrd was ejected from the vehicle and received serious injuries. He was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center along with Christopher Jones who also injured in the crash. Geremy Jones did not require medical attention.
The collision remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit.
