Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck and Deputies report responding to an assault complaint on Parrott Drive in Eastern Pulaski County early this Saturday, July 23, 2022 at around 1:05 a.m. According the the sheriff’s report, Deputy Noah Wesley arrived on scene and made contact with the victim who alleged that she had been assaulted by subject identified as John Stacy. Somerset/Pulaski EMS responded to the scene for the assault victim, however, the victim declined to be transported by EMS and went to the hospital by private vehicle with family. This particular incident ended around 3:00 AM, Deputy Wesley and EMS cleared the scene with Deputy Wesley continuing the investigation, according to the report.
Then later this morning, around10:47 a.m. another call came into 911 Dispatch reporting a shooting victim on Paradise Lake Drive in eastern Pulaski County. Deputies and Somerset/Pulaski County EMS responded to the scene and found the victim was deceased.
Deputies left the scene and went again to the Parrott Drive location and contacted the victim from earlier in the morning. Deputies determined that John Stacy (the suspect in the earlier assault) was also a person of interest in the death investigation.
The man sought, John Stacy, age 57, was stopped later by Deputy David Campbell and taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for further investigation and his vehicle has been taken to the Sheriff’s Office impound lot for processing.
Multiple warrants have now been issued against Stacy. On charging him with Attempted Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree and Kidnapping stemming from the earlier response to Parrott Drive in Pulaski County. In this case the report states, John Stacy entered a female victim’s residence while being armed with a gun. While inside the residence, he assaulted the female victim. Mr. Stacy held her at that residence against her will by physically assaulting her and threatening her with the loaded handgun.
Later this evening, after John Stacy was in custody, Detective Joey Johnson filed for another warrant charging Mr. Stacy with Murder related to the call at 10:47 this morning and the death investigation.
Motive in both these cases is still being determined.
The names of both victims have not been released at this time.
John Stacy will be transported to the Pulaski County Detention and lodged.
This investigation continues by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Major Crimes Task Force. The death investigation also continues by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
