Stolen vehicle and subject out of Jackson County caught by KSP in Madison

Kentucky state police recovered a stolen vehicle out of Jackson County Saturday.

KSP received a call that a silver Nissan Sentra that was missing hubcaps and a passenger side door mirror had been stolen, and was traveling northbound on 421. The Trooper staked out the Big Hill, Food Mart to look for the vehicle. Moments later, the subject vehicle and driver pulled into the store around 3:30, apparently not seeing the awaiting officer.

The Trooper was able to take the subject into custody without incident.

Many witnesses report, the driver driving, extremely erratic, and at high speeds coming over Big Hill toward Richmond. Arrested was Raleigh Campbell, age 40 of Church Street in Manchester. Campbell is facing stolen property and possession of burglary tool charges -and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner, and that initial vehicle theft is continuing to be investigated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
