A Kentucky State Police Post 8 Trooper observed a stolen vehicle on Winchester Road near Clay City, KY this week. According to KSP, the Trooper activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the stolen vehicle on Virden Ridge Road.
The operator of the vehicle allegedly refused to stop and a brief pursuit ensued, until the driver apparently attempted to make a U-turn and nearly struck the trooper.
The Trooper then fired his firearm into the vehicle in an attempt to stop the vehicle, until the driver then wrecked the allegedly stolen car.
The operator exited the vehicle and fled on foot to Sky View Lane. After receiving several tips from the public, Troopers arrested Michael Osborne and lodged him in the Powell County Detention Center.
The Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Powell County Sheriff’s Department and the Clay City Fire and Rescue. This incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
