Traffic in the Lexington metro area remains a mess due to what Lexington Police say is a ‘suicidal subject’ on the Bryan Station Road overpass. Police confirm the subject has fired shots. They would not be more specific but did add no injuries have been reported.
The area remains a highly active police situation. Police say for the safety of residents and motorists in the area, I-75 north and southbound has been shut down. Crisis Negotiation Unit personnel are currently communicating with the subject.
North and southbound I-75 at Winchester Road and the I-64 ramp at the interchange with northbound I-75 are closed due the ongoing situation.
If you are traveling in the area, expect delays. Please avoid the area and consider an alternative route.
WBON will continue to provide updates as they become available.
