MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – One person is dead after an overnight shooting in Madison County.
Richmond Police say they were called to a home on Foxhaven Drive around 3:15a.m. on Saturday for a report of a fight where shots were fired. Reportedly they found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The Madison County Coroner confirms Jaicoatai Dean, 21, died around 4 a.m. at the hospital.
Neighbors say Dean didn’t live in their apartment complex where the shooting happened, but he was well known and liked by people in the area. They say he was involved in an argument with a neighbor before the shots were fired.
“It was devastating because he’s so kind-hearted. He doesn’t have problems with anyone. It was shocking to see him,” a neighbor told LEX 18.
A suspect has not yet been identified. Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
