Secretary Adams Released from Lawsuit Involving Single Polling Locations

The Office of Secretary of State Michael Adams announced earlier today that Adams has been released from all claims made by Jefferson, Fayette, Kenton, Boone and Campbell County voters with respect to single voting locations in those counties.

The lawsuit, originally filed by five voters from the aforementioned counties along with State Representative Jason Nemes, was filed last week. One of the concerns which contributed towards the lawsuit was voter suppression, as these counties are among the most populous within the state.

The plaintiffs note that Secretary Adams has opposed, but by law does not control, these counties’ decisions to each have only one voting location. Secretary Adams has encouraged these counties to reach a settlement with the plaintiffs and, if possible, offer additional voting locations.
