Multiple County Fire and Rescue squads responded to an area near the Madison/Rockcastle County line Sunday night.
From information WBON-TV gathered from those agencies, there was concern for the person who had been missing for several hours and did not have cell phone. It had been dark for several hours and the person had not returned.
Searchers were in the area of the Burnt Ridge, then searched from the road to a cliff. Side by sides and a thermal drone was also unutilized in the search.
The missing person was found near what they call the ‘cow bell’ by water company personnel around 12:30 Monday morning. The person had walked for a quite a long way in rough terrain but did not require medical attention.
Rockcastle County, Climax Fire, Madison County Fire, Red Lick Fire, and Berea Fire Departments aided in the successful search effort.
