While many experienced a much needed extended weekend over the last few days, the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team were hard at work doing what they do best.
According to a social media post on their page, WCSART officials were dispatched to make a rescue Sunday afternoon. However, it wasn’t the usual hiker they were rescuing this time; it was a lost dog. The canine had apparently wandered away from its residence and had become stuck on a ledge in the middle of a waterfall in Menifee County.
The rescue team deployed technicians via rope to provide assistance to the scared Irish wolfhound. Officials say the dog, named Elola, was eager for help and quickly came towards the technicians. Elola was fitted with a specialized dog harness and was then raised to safety without injury. Following the heroic rescue, the pet was reunited with her family.
