The Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attempted theft of money from an ATM machine at Community Trust Bank on Lake Cumberland Road Branch in Mt. Vernon.
According to the sheriff’s department, the attempted theft happened shortly after 2 am this morning, 01/31/2023. Mt. Vernon Police Department pursued the vehicle on I-75 to Fayette County, where the pursuit was terminated due to public safety issues and deteriorating weather and road conditions.
The vehicle is a large white box truck seen in the feature photograph. The operator is a black male (photo below). We realize the photo is blurry, but anyone who can identify or with any information is asked to contact the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office at 606-256-4508.
