A Richmond woman has been arrested and charged stemming from a still vague occurrence on the campus of Berea College. In the early morning hours of Sunday April 2nd, 39-year-old Allie Issacs of Richmond was taken into custody after apparently firing shots on the school grounds, between 3-4 a.m. Issacs was booked into the Madison Detention Center by Officer Shearer of the Berea Police Department on the following charges:
1) UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF WEAPON ON SCHOOL PROPERTY
2) WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE
3) DISCHARGE FIREARM/OTH DEVICE ACROSS PUBLIC ROAD
Berea College Media Relations Director Jodi Whitaker, released this statement regarding the incident:
“Just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, an unknown person unaffiliated with Berea College stopped their vehicle on campus and ran behind one of our residence halls. The individual fired shots, which prompted calls to law enforcement. The individual did not succeed in entering a residence hall. Law enforcement took the individual into custody, and a weapon was confiscated. There were no injuries or damage.”
WBON-TV9 attempted to procure a mugshot of Issacs from the Detention Center, but no picture for this arrest was available.
