A Richmond woman is facing a 2nd degree manslaughter charge after a recent overdose in a Richmond Waffle House bathroom.
Around 1:30 on Monday morning, officials responded to a possible overdose in the Waffle House off of the Eastern Bypass where officers discovered Carl Edwards deceased in the bathroom. Cameras captured footage that showed a possible transaction between Edwards and Richmond woman, Amanda Hornsby. Officers allegedly found a bottle cap in the bathroom with what is suspected to be heroin inside. When police made contact with Hornsby, according to the citation, she stated that what she had given to Edwards was not hers, and she was just the “middle man.”
Hornsby is charged with second degree manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense. Hornsby is currently being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
