RICHMOND, Ky. — A Richmond woman is facing multiple charges after police say she was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 early Thursday morning.
According to the Richmond Police Department, officers received a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. on August 13 reporting a vehicle traveling the wrong way on I-75.
RPD officers responded to the area and located the vehicle, reportedly driven by 45-year-old Rachel Caudill of Richmond. Officers attempted to stop Caudill, but police say she nearly collided with an RPD cruiser during the attempted traffic stop.
Caudill’s vehicle eventually collided with another vehicle, resulting in a traffic accident.
Officers checked on all parties involved in the crash before taking Caudill into custody.
Caudill was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol first-degree, wanton endangerment of a police officer first-degree, wanton endangerment first-degree, reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, driving under the influence on a suspended license, and failure to wear a seat belt.
Caudill was booked into the Madison County Detention Center.
All charges are allegations, and Caudill is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
