Richmond woman and man charged with allegedly endangering child

Madison County deputies arrested a man and a woman for public intoxication by a controlled substance and first-degree wanton endangerment after they were allegedly passed out with a child in a vehicle at a gas station early Wednesday morning. Deputies were called to the gas station after the manager of the business couldn’t wake up Amy Taylor and Anthony Gardner according to a citation. When deputies arrived, it took them several attempts to wake up the two, the citation states. Deputies asked Taylor, who had been passed out behind the wheel, if she had taken medication or had a condition that would affect her in this way, and she said no. The citation states that moments later she admitted to snorting heroin the same day, Gardner was in the same vehicle, passed out in the passenger seat, and deputies learned he was wanted on three warrants for failure to appear, the citation states. Both Taylor and Gardner were taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
