Richmond Rotary Club holds Sharing a Taste of the World Dinner

The Richmond Rotary Club celebrated their annual fundraiser with an International Dinner this past Saturday at the EKU Perkins Building. Local restaurants and others helped the Richmond Rotary Club with “Sharing a Taste of the World” celebration.

The Richmond Rotary Club would like to thank the food vendors including Paddy Wagon (Irish), Fazoli’s (Italian), Marsala (Indian), Golden Corral (American), Skyline (Greek), Babylon Gyros (Greek), Shree Umiya Maraji Temple (Indian), Russell R. Cavendish (Guatemalan), Brady’s (Asian), Koto (Japanese), Best Donuts (Donuts), Qdoba (Mexican), and Jadranka Dizdarevic (Bosnian).

Members and several friends were treated to these international dishes throughout the evening while listening to the talented trio of Bourbon Trailers.  In addition, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 118 from St. Mark assisted the food vendors with set up and clean up while serving donuts throughout the evening.

The International Dinner has become the annual fundraiser for the Richmond Rotary Club. This year, God’s Outreach Food Bank is the major beneficiary of the International Dinner’s proceeds. God’s Outreach serves Madison, Estill, and Jackson Counties with supplemental and emergency food. The two other beneficiaries are the Rotary Polio Campaign and the Richmond Rotary Foundation.

The Richmond Rotary Club raised approximately $13,000 from the International Dinner. All proceeds will be sent to the three beneficiaries above. If you would like to make a donation, please send a check to the Richmond Rotary Foundation at 1019 Palmetto Drive, Richmond 40475.
