On Wednesday, the Richmond Police Department received information about a possible missing juvenile from Alabama suspected to be in Richmond.
Local detectives worked closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and recovered the youth at a local restaurant with the suspect. That suspect was immediately taken into custody and identified as 43-year-old Glendon Carpenter of Richmond.
The juvenile was recovered and is safe and according to the statement. Evidence obtained during the investigation led to the arrest of Carpenter. Carpenter was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center where he was charged with Kidnapping, 2nd Degree Rape, and 1st Degree Sexual Abuse. The investigation is still ongoing and could result in additional charges.
