The Richmond Police Department is reporting that a local business owner was arrested Tuesday evening, following an alleged incident involving a handgun and his employees.
According to the arrest citation, officers met with a trio of employees who were present at Ismail Quhassi’s apartment completing finances for the end of the work day. During this time, one of the employees asked to use Quhassi’s restroom.
Police say that Quhassi apparently became irate at the employee and pushed the door in, pointing a pistol at them. The victim claims that Quhassi told them “don’t talk or sing in my [expletive] house with your [expletive] in your hand.”
Two other individuals supported the victim’s claims, reporting that their boss committed the alleged assault unprovoked. They went on to add that Quhassi commanded them to “shut up” and that he would “shoot everybody” if they didn’t.
When officials arrived at Quhassi’s residence, they questioned him about the allegations that were made by his employees. Further reading of the citation indicates that he confirmed that the three subjects were counting money at his home, but denied ever pointing a gun at anyone or making a threat.
Authorities secured the handgun, which was apparently in plain view in the living room, and determined that it was loaded with a round in the chamber.
Quhassi was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment and 3rd Degree Terroristic Threatening.
