Four individuals from Richmond have been apprehended and charged with first-degree robbery and engaging in organized crime.
The arrests come after a several week investigation by the Richmond Police Department into a shooting incident that involved a man and a juvenile on January 8th of this year. That incident occurred on North Hill Street in Richmond.
20-year-old Elijah Carter of Richmond was arrested at that time and charged in connection with shooting the juvenile, prior to the juvenile shooting him.
The ongoing investigation by RPD has revealed four more people were involved in a planned and organized effort to rob the juvenile of the drugs and $10,000, they believed to be in his possession.
The plan was one of the individuals would work as a diversion, while the other four ambushed the juvenile at gunpoint.
Police say once the gunfire erupted, all the suspects fled the scene.
The additional four suspects were rounded up and arrested yesterday. Javin Denny, Gerius Walker, Harrod Roberts, and Larahyn Estell, all of Richmond, were taken into custody yesterday February 27, 2024.
They are all charged with robbery in the first- degree and engaging in organized crime.
All five are now lodged in the Madison County detention center.
