This past Tuesday, Richmond police report responding to a call regarding several suspicious subjects walking around a silver Dodge Durango. A subject was apprehended after police witnessed this suspicious activity.
Police report arriving on scene and observing an individual walking around the reportedly stolen Dodge. This Individual was later identified as 43 year old William McFarland, but at first when officers were making the arrest his identity remained a secret as he gave a fake name and social security number that belonged to a friend of his.
Police also report observing McFarland throwing a syringe into the grass before being cuffed. Officials reported a brown liquid substance in the syringe that McFarland would later confirm to be heroin. McFarland also revealed his true identity according to officials a little while after being apprehended.
McFarland was lodged in the Madison County Detention center on charges of tampering with evidence, possession of heroin and theft of identity.
