Yesterday, October 12, 2023, around 11:15, Richmond Police observed what they believed to be a drug transaction between the driver of a vehicle and another person near Kristen Drive in Richmond.
Officers say when the vehicle operator observed the officer, he fled the area at a high speed.
Thats when several other officers responded to the area and were able to stop the fleeing vehicle and the driver, 27-year-old Keishawn Larkin of Detroit Michigan.
K9 officer “Ace” and his handler responded to the scene and conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive K9 alert to multiple areas. Upon searching the vehicle, officers located guns, drugs and money. :
That included a 9mm handgun and additional ammunition, $6,086 in currency, approximately 2grams of suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia. An additional 9mm handgun was also found on Larkin.
Larkin was arrested and charged with several serious offences and was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
