Richmond Police officer arrests a Madison County Court Security officer

Richmond police arrest Irvine man in connection to Easter weekend shooting on N. Third Street

The Richmond Police Department arrested one man just after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday March 31, 2024, for a drive-by shooting that happened Saturday evening.

Around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night March 30, Richmond Police Department responded to North Third Street in reference to a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was taken to a medical facility for further care.

Officers determined from witnesses that a vehicle had been passing by, shooting adults and children in the front yard with an Orbeez gun – a high-powered water gun that shoots hydrated pellets. Witnesses stated the victim and another adult confronted the subjects when they drove by again, which resulted in the driver of the vehicle displaying a revolver and subsequently shooting the victim.

After some investigation, William Bryce Adams (20) of Irvine, Ky., and two other female occupants, ages 18 and 22, were brought in for questioning. Adams confessed to shooting the victim and was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree and seven counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

The victim is undergoing medical treatment. All other adults and children on the scene were free of injury.
