The suspect in Wednesday morning’s robbery investigation has been arrested by law enforcement following a tip from a Boonesborough area resident.
The suspect, later identified as 30 year-old Jordan Hall of Texas, was caught on security camera driving a vehicle through the front entrance of Dan’s Discount Jewelry and Pawn shortly before 3 a.m. According to authorities, the vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of EnerSys moments before the incident.
Police say Hall took several items from the store including firearms. Following the robbery, law enforcement instigated a high speed pursuit of the stolen vehicle. During the pursuit, Hall reportedly collided with a tanker truck near I-75 Exit 95, but then fled on foot in the vicinity.
An hours-long manhunt then ensued where Richmond Police, Lexington Police, Winchester Police and Kentucky State Police officers worked together in the search. Winchester Police utilized drones and Lexington Police dispatched a helicopter while the search was taking place.
Nearby Boonesborough Elementary kept children inside for recess during the manhunt on what was termed a “soft lockdown”.
Law enforcement were eventually able to locate Hall with assistance from area residents. Hall is now in police custody.
Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife were also involved in search efforts.
