During Tuesday night’s city commission meeting it was announced that the city will be merging the departments of Zoning and Code Enforcement into one department. The new department will be known as the Department of Codes, Planning, Safety and Risk Management. The merge was decided upon due to the two departments having overlapping duties. It will also make the city’s government more efficient as well as make it more convenient for the public when they need to work with the new department. It will also save the city money.
The city has awarded a bid on the Gibson Bay Lake Reba Tree Project. The bid of one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars was awarded to JTNN Enterprises who doing tree removal and trimming around the area, as well as cleaning up and excavating ditch lines.
