Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison has officially confirmed the identity of the man killed today near Buc-ees to WBON-TV9.
William “Bill” Wason, 72 of Crescent Drive in Richmond, was reportedly struck while driving his motorcycle by a truck at the intersection near the popular destination in Madison County.
He was pronounced dead on scene from blunt force trauma.
Duncannon Lane was closed in both directions for hours as first responders, investigators and reconstructionists worked the scene.
According to Wason’s Facebook page, he previously worked at The Kentucky Army National Guard, was a former substitute bus driver at Madison County, and was a rider at Patriot Guard Riders.
Since the opening of the Buc-ees in Richmond over three years ago, traffic issues and wrecks have become commonplace around the area of I-75 and Duncannon Lane.
