Several Kentucky State Police units were involved in a pursuit of a vehicle Friday night in Madison County. The pursuit stemmed from a road check on Tates Creek Road at South Keenland Drive. The operator failed to stop and continued through the checkpoint where pursuit ensued. The pursuit terminated prior to entering Richmond city limits.
According to KSP, once pursuit was terminated, troopers still had a visual on the vehicle where it stopped in the Madison County Detention Center parking lot. The driver was identified as Scottie Mcguire, 48 of Richmond. Troopers conducted a felony stop on Mcguire and took him into custody without further incident. Mcguire is facing numerous charges including speeding 26 mph or more, operating a vehicle under the influence, several drug possession charges, reckless driving, and fleeing among other charges.
